{"id":2043359,"date":"2017-03-08T20:30:47","date_gmt":"2017-03-08T20:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/romfilatelia.ro\/romagazin\/en\/product\/holy-easter-2017\/"},"modified":"2021-03-08T07:40:14","modified_gmt":"2021-03-08T07:40:14","slug":"holy-easter-2017","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/magazin.romfilatelia.ro\/en\/product\/holy-easter-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"HOLY EASTER 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2014865 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.romfilatelia.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/PASTE_2017_emis-300x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This year, because Easter is celebrated on the same day, both for Orthodox Christians and Catholics alike, <strong>Romfilatelia<\/strong> brings to the public\u2019s attention a valuable postage stamp issue consisting of two stamps and a souvenir sheet.<\/p>\n<p>On two stamps of the issue, two icons are illustrated, representing the <em>Crucifixion of the Savior<\/em>, belonging to the<br \/>\n\u201cRadu Voda\u201d Monastery, and to the \u201cSaint Joseph\u201d Cathedral, both in Bucharest.<\/p>\n<p>The border of the souvenir sheet illustrates the icon of <em>Our Lady of Sorrows<\/em> belonging to the \u201cRadu Voda\u201d Monastery, while the stamp of the souvenir sheet illustrates the <em>Resurrection<\/em> icon that is part of the iconographic fund of the Darvari Hermitage in Bucharest.<\/p>\n<p>The stamp illustrating the <strong><em>Crucifixion of Jesus Christ<\/em><\/strong>, from the <strong>\u201cRadu Voda\u201d Monastery<\/strong> heritage, is a representation known since the first Christian era. God could not give us a proof of greater love than the death of his Son, Jesus Christ, for our redemption. So, the sacrifice that would have been the way of perfecting humanity became after the Fall of Man our means of reconciliation with God. In July 1992, the Darvari Hermitage, was declared a historic monument by the National Commission of Monuments, Ensembles and Historical Sites. The <strong><em>Lord\u2019s Crucifixion<\/em><\/strong> icon is in the <strong>\u201cSaint Joseph\u201d Cathedral<\/strong>, in Bucharest. Solemnity of \u201cSaint Joseph, husband of the Holy Virgin Mary\u201d was chosen as patron day of the cathedral and is celebrated every year on March19<sup>th<\/sup>.\u201cSaint Joseph\u2019s\u201d Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop Metropolitan of Bucharest, the living breath of the Catholic congregation in southern Romania, a historic, cultural and architectural monument enshrined in national and European heritage. On February 15<sup>th<\/sup>, 1884, the Pontifical Mass for the consecration and inauguration of \u201cSaint Joseph\u2019s\u201d Cathedral was celebrated. <strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>The Resurrection \u2013 the Harrowing of Hell<\/em><\/strong> is part of the <strong>Darvari Hermitage<\/strong> of Bucharest\u2019s iconographic heritage. Full of symbols, the <strong><em>Harrowing of Hell<\/em><\/strong> icon of the Lord Jesus shows him making his way through the crust of the earth and trampling the gates of hell. The Harrowing of Hell bears in itself the beginning of human exaltation, for which physical death is only a passage, a gateway to new life, eternal. The Darvari Hermitage under the patronage of <em>Saints Constantine and Helen<\/em> and the <em>Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel<\/em> was founded in 1834 by Mihail Darvari and his wife Elena, born in the Buzescu family. The icon of <strong><em>Our Lady of Sorrows<\/em><\/strong> &#8211; (souvenir sheet border) is part of the \u201cRadu Voda\u201d Monastery\u2019s heritage under the <em>Holy Trinity<\/em> and <em>Saint Nectarios of Aegina Hierarch<\/em> patronage and is dated in the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century.
